POWER GRID

Power grid and poles for your subdivision in Paraguay

We design the network, file it with ANDE and build it with ANDE-type materials, through to the final inspection.

WHAT WE DO

From the design to the last pole

Network design

Design of the medium- and low-voltage network and of street lighting on your subdivision plan.

ANDE paperwork

Filing of the design, follow-up of the approval and of the technical feasibility.

Materials and works

Poles, cables and equipment with ANDE-type materials, and network laying up to each lot.

Inspection and handover

We coordinate ANDE's inspection during and at the end of the works.

ANDE CRITERIA

What ANDE's technical standard requires

ANDE standard No. 01.03.13 Rev. 1 (04/13/2016) sets the criteria for distribution line projects. They are ANDE's reference criteria for its own networks: your subdivision's design is defined and approved by ANDE.

  • Reinforced concrete poles of 9 meters for low voltage and 12 meters for medium voltage. Poles shorter than 9 meters or made of palm are not allowed.
  • The low-voltage network uses pre-assembled (bundled) cable.
  • Maximum span between poles of 40 meters for pre-assembled low voltage up to 3x35+1x50 mm² and 35 meters for protected medium voltage.

ANDE's full criteria for subdivision networks (demand per lot, transformers, luminaires) are confirmed with ANDE in each project, because they depend on the area and the expected demand.

HOW THE PROJECT MOVES THROUGH ANDE

Who approves, who inspects

  1. Approval. ANDE's Distribution Projects Department (or the regional agency) verifies technical feasibility and approves the design.
  2. Materials. ANDE-type materials are approved by the Materials Control and Supply unit, according to its technical specifications.
  3. Works. Construction starts only once the design is approved, coordinating the start date with ANDE.
  4. Inspection. The Distribution Works Supervision Department inspects the start and end of the works and issues the final report.
WHAT WE NEED

To get started

  • Location of the subdivision and its plan (or the preliminary design of streets and lots).
  • Property title and cadastral data, if the procedure requires it.
  • Information on the nearest ANDE network, which we survey on site.

If you do not have the plan yet, we make the subdivision design and the geomatics survey for you.

HOW MUCH IT COSTS

What the quote depends on

The cost of the power grid changes with the meters of network, the number of lots, the distance to the existing ANDE network, whether a transformer is needed and how much street lighting is designed. We quote by item after seeing the plan and the land. We do not publish prices per pole or per lot without that survey.

COMMON MISTAKES

What makes ANDE reject a design

Poles shorter than 9 meters

The ANDE standard does not allow them, nor palm poles.

Unapproved materials

Materials must be ANDE-type and approved by its materials unit.

Starting the works without approval

Works start only once the design is approved by ANDE.

Not planning for lighting

Street lighting is defined in the design. Adding it later forces a modification of the network.

FAQ

Before hiring the power grid

Who approves the electrical design of a subdivision?

ANDE. Its Distribution Projects Department verifies feasibility and approves the design, and Works Supervision inspects the construction.

Does the law require installing electricity in a subdivision?

The subdivision chapter of Law 3966/10 does not list the power grid among the mandatory works after approval. The municipality's ordinance may require it, and without it lots are harder to sell. We confirm what your municipality asks for.

Can wooden or palm poles be used?

No. The ANDE standard allows reinforced concrete or steel poles of at least 9 meters, and does not allow palm poles.

How long does ANDE take to approve?

There is no published timeframe we can cite. We will tell you after filing the design, because it depends on the area and on the agency's workload.

Does it include street lighting?

Yes, we design street lighting together with the network and adjust it to what ANDE approves and the municipality requests.

Can I connect each lot as soon as the poles are finished?

Each lot needs its own supply request to ANDE, which the lot owner files with their title, ID and electrician. We explain the procedure to whoever buys.
